I have several friends and relatives who are having their first babies in the near future and I’m constantly being asked, “What do I need?” Having 3 somehow makes me an expert. But I’m definitely no expert… it’s been a lot of trial and error.
Here are some baby products I heart.
Let’s start with car seats. I did a lot of research on car seats back in 2006 right before Mr. C was born. I had no idea what to get. The first thing I found out was that they are an investment and expensive. The next thing I found out was that there are different kinds… infant seats, convertible seats, boosters with a back, boosters without a back… There are so many of brands… Graco, Britax, Chicco, Safety 1st…
So many choices… Too many choices…
I decided to register for the Britax Marathon.
Yep, a convertible car seat because you can put a 5lbs. baby and a kid up to 70lbs. in there. There were several people confused with my decision and to be honest, so was I. I just didn’t want to carry an infant seat and a stroller with me everywhere I go. My mom thought I was nuts carrying around a baby in my arms when I had to run errands. And that’s when I decided to look at baby carriers.
I knew all along that I wanted to be a baby wearing mama. I had a friend who loved wearing her baby. I wanted to be that close with my little one. I found an Infantino sling at Babies R Us. Since then, it has been recalled. I used it with my first 2 babies. We loved it!
People who saw my baby sling with my little one always questioned the safety of the carrier. Can he breathe? Is the baby ok? My baby loved it. That’s all that mattered. Sometimes, it was the only way to get him to fall asleep. Here he was with his grandma.
By the time I had my little lady, I didn’t have that sling. It was recalled and I ended up sending it back in exchange for some baby toys. When the little lady was born, I was searching for a sling type carrier for her. I found this adjustable sling by Balboa Baby.
Of course, this type of sling doesn’t last forever. I looked for other options and this is what I found.
The Beco Baby Carrier. I found this back in 2008. I heart it. We used it all over Europe to carry my 22 month old Mr. C. It was perfect! Here we are enjoying the cities.
When Bakey was born, I didn’t really have a need for the carrier because we ended up getting a Maclaren Twin Triumph. We still use it today.
We use it anytime we have to go out. We heart it.
Before we went to Europe back in 2008, I knew we had to get a light umbrella stroller. I found the G-LiTE Lightweight Stroller.
We still have this stroller and we absolutely heart it!! It’s pretty beat up now, but it still does it’s thing and it’s the best!
When the Little Lady was born, I wanted to get a new baby carrier for her because the other one I had was old and had been recalled. I wanted to try out the Ergobaby Carrier.
All I can say is the Little Lady likes it. So, it’s just as good as the Beco carrier, but I do like the Beco designs better.
That’s it for now. I still have so many items I heart, but this post is getting a little long…
